This hair transplant method is an evolution of the traditional strip technique and was first applied by the medical team of Dr. G. Papageorgiou. The micro-strip method is used for candidates who cannot undergo traditional strip harvesting due to a lack of skin elasticity in the donor area, or in cases where the donor area is very small.

Since the number of grafts obtained with this method is similar to that of the classic strip technique, it can be applied to candidates who, for personal reasons, prefer not to undergo strip harvesting or FUE.

The size of the pieces extracted using the micro-strip method does not exceed 2.5 to 3 cm, and no scar is left, provided the procedure is performed by a skilled dermatologic surgeon.

The risk of graft loss with the micro-strip method is minimal, just like with the strip technique, unlike FUE, where up to 30% of grafts can be lost due to the “blind” extraction process (see FUE technique).
