The Strip Hair Transplant technique (FUT) is the most popular and successful hair restoration method worldwide, and it is applied by Dermatologist- Dermatologic Surgeon Dr. Giannis Papageorgopoulos in its most modern and advanced version.
When combined with high-level surgical skill, aesthetic sense, and experience, the Strip Hair Transplant method (FUT) can lead to an absolutely natural result with high-quality and aesthetic value.
Hair Transplant Process:
- Extraction of hair follicles from the back and sides of the scalp
- Transfer of hair follicles to the thinning areas on the scalp
The Strip Hair Transplant method (FUT) essentially replicates the natural hair growth pattern, as hair grows in groups of 1 to 4 strands.
The FUT technique involves the mass extraction of hair follicles from the donor area (back and sides of the scalp) and transplanting them to the recipient area where thinning has occurred.
Advantages of the Strip Hair Transplant Method (FUT)
- Painless procedure: With the advanced form of the strip method and strict application protocol, hair transplant surgery is completely painless. In the past, light pain was reported by about 30% of patients undergoing the procedure, but today, there is no pain in the hair transplant due to the use of slow-release anesthetics, which eliminate the possibility of pain.
- Painless post-operative recovery: Only mild discomfort may occur in the donor area during the first 24 hours, which can be managed with common painkillers.
- Sealing of the donor area with an “invisible” scar, which can only be detected by a specialist through close examination of the scalp.
- No post-operative swelling: Previously, some patients experienced temporary frontal swelling after the procedure. However, with the protocol followed by our medical team, swelling is very rare.
- No graft loss: Follicular separation is done using a stereoscopic microscope, ensuring the preservation of follicle integrity.
For the hair transplant to be completely successful, Dr. Giannis Papageorgopoulos designs an individualized hair transplant plan for each patient. This plan takes into account various factors such as the elasticity and density of the donor area, the possibility of future transplants, and the patient’s unique characteristics, ensuring a hair restoration result that is perfectly tailored to the individual.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
When is the healing process complete?
In a few days, the donor and recipient areas heal, as the areas from which the hair follicles were taken leave only a microscopic gap. -
How long does the result last?
The result of the hair transplant lasts a lifetime. The area from which the hair follicles were taken is very stable, and the grafts are very strong, both in texture and color. -
When will the new hair appear?
The transplanted hair follicles already contain some small hairs, which may fall out after the transplant, while others remain and continue to grow. The remaining hairs will regrow after a certain period, and in about 12 months, you will be able to enjoy the permanent result.
